What a day in St Augustines school looks like.

The doors of the school are open at 8.30 am to welcome our pupils. A healthy breakfast, a chat, a game of pool, a game of cards, lots of fun and laughter is encouraged before transitioning to a classroom setting. A member of our wellbeing team is always available to support a pupil who may not be in a position to transition to a classroom setting for an array of reasons. Our priority as a team here in St. Augustine’s school is always to engage our pupils for the length of the school day as much as possible.

What does “meeting pupils where they are at” look like in our school. As our pupils here in St. Augustine’s school, like many other young people experience challenges

  • All staff are trained in behaviour modification programmes
  • We are working towards being a trauma informed organisation with the understanding that we never give up and focus always on all behaviour has meaning, therefore all experiences are opportunities for learning.
